there's no infinite funding. these closed weight companies will need to be profitable to cover back the gzillion dollars spent here and there from the shareholders. and having 100 customers paying 1 million/month won't cut it.

You guys continue to miss the point of why close models will loose. Companies require sovereign AI tools. Hotel California solutions are a no go. Anthropic and OpenWay will never go public. They will get acquired.

Also this is not inclusive of people who are really serious about AI who run local models offline using open weight models. And if open weight keep getting smaller and more efficient, and the hardware improves more and more u gonna see more self hosting. Eventually devices with offline models. Ai as a service doesn't make sense in a 10-15year span of time.

According to some people, the best US model is only about 6 months ahead of Chinese models. This means the best US models, which they try to charge a premium for them, will become free models 6 months from now.🤣 That is not going to work.
