Whoa whoa whoa. I just got a puppy last weekend too. We had been consenting it for a few weeks but I couldn’t get myself to buy a puppy. Well they lady ended up giving him to us. She said she loved our energy and our other dog and really wanted us to have him! It’s a Bernese, Australian, labradoodle mix!

I had an experience like that saying as I'm puppy proofing my kitchen to leave him for the first time for a bit, my soul dog passed and immediately I get home after this I'm like I need to go to the shelter RIGHT NOW I'm like no!!! I don't want another dog that's not the plan. and a week later I'm falling asleep I start panicking I NEED TO GO TO THE SHELTER (always the same one I got my cat from) and I was just "looking" the other day I see this cutie black little baby and I start panicking I need to go NOWW they're closing in an hour... and I hold him and I'm like if I let him go I'm gonna have a panic attack not that he was gonna let me put him down anyway here's Anubis 😅😂🖤

My soul dog, Jack, passed away in April 2024, right before we moved into our first home. I had no desire to get another dog for at least a year. I had a dream about the cutest fluffy white little girl and a month later my husband was showing me puppies. I held off but started looking and a month later the cutest white Chinese Crested girl was available for adoption, I reached out to the breeder and she said she had been adopted by some one who reached out before me. I noticed she had another cutie available and we ended up adopting Bodhi and I knew my Jack was involved in that. In August of 2024 Bodhi’s parents had another litter and we picked up his little sister in October, all white baby girl!!! Another wink from my Jack💖

3 weeks before we went to pick up the puppy we picked out, I saw my mum in her local park so I went over to say hello and there by her side was a brown sprocker spaniel. My brother had gotten a dog a few months earlier and was struggling to look after him, so my mum was dog sitting. As soon as he saw me he cried and hid behind me 🥹 2 weeks later we dog sat him for a weekend... and he never left 😍 When he walked through the door of our house he instantly relaxed. He was a different dog. He said, LOUD AND CLEAR "I live here now". "I'm here to look after mummy" (my wife). He hasn't left her side. He has his purpose now. He has me to protect him. He thanks me every night 😭 I'm going for a tissue ♥️

Aw, I love this! 4 years after saying goodbye to a soul pet (a rabbit) I started feeling ready for a dog, but we weren't sure about the timing. Late August/Early September, a local shelter ran a "Clear the Shelter" event with lower adoption fees for most animals. I found a few on their website I wanted to meet, and my plan was to go up while my kids were at school and my husband was at work to check them out and get a feel for whether it really was the right time. NONE of the dogs I wanted to see clicked with me. But while I was visiting one that was in the isolation room bc of a surgery she'd needed, a dog in a kennel behind me started whining and pawing the door like mad. The sweetest little husky mix who looked like a baby wolf was trying to get attention and nibbled on my fingers when I reached through to pet her. 💜 She was in a stray hold, so I couldn't just take her right then, but I can't back with my husband and kids who ALSO feel in love, and when she wasn't claimed, we got to adopt her. 💜 That was 9 years ago. She follows me everywhere she can and she's just the sweetest dog I've ever known. [Heartwarming] Enjoy getting to know your new puppy!
