All of my daughters have moved out. One of their friends stays at our house 3-4 nights a week because she lives 1.5 hrs away and works in a hospital close to us. I only figured this out because I ran into her in the kitchen once.

I had moved halfway across the country… my friend called to tell me he had woken up in my bedroom after a night of drinking… 🤣 my parents live in a downtown area, apparently he’d gone to the bar, lost his phone, but knew he could walk to my house, knocked on the door at 3am and my mom led him to my bedroom.

Had kids that spent so much time at my sister's house her husband gave them chores... that they absolutely did then with no complaints. They're all in their mid to late 30's with families if their own. They still come by, usually unannounced and pour a cup, grab a snack and sit down to visit.

While my daughter was away at Texas A&M, her BFF since 2nd grade regularly ate dinner here at least 3 nights a week. His mom passed away when he was in high school and he is just a great kid and I treated him just like my own child. My daughter and him and his husband live side by side in a duplex now. They still eat dinner here every now and then.

growing up poor, like we would run out of food for the last 9 days of the month...my friends parents knew of the situation but never spoke about it....they would also say " Zach were having this for dinner and your coming over right!?!? we're go to have too much food! so come over and bring a plate for left overs!!" I would get invited 3-4 times all with leftovers or if I showed up on a random day....Zach were going food shopping, help us Empty that fridge! make a pizza, sandwich, whatever! just help us Empty it...sometimes they would even ask if I wanted anything, so there would always be something there for me lol 🤣

Love this. We had one who just walked in and I found him asleep on our couch. I usually left the door opened. I was in my office and when I went into the family room yhere he was asleep. He always loved that couch. So I made him some bacon. His favorite food. A safe place.
