@dogtimezone: 🆘 WILTON has been alerted for euthanasia and deadlined for Sat 8AM 10/10. He needs a confirmed exit plan (adopt, foster or rescue) by 5pm Friday. Another sad set of circumstances for a young pup who deserves to live, Wilton came to the South LA shelter on 8/31 as a terrified stray dog. He was fractious in his kennel but would quickly retreat into his cubby when anyone opened his kennel door. When actually retrieved from his cubby, this scared but sweet boy immediately became soft and timid. In his early playgroup days, he was overwhelmed, sat in a corner and kept to himself. Identified as a dog to “protect,” Wilton has appreciated a slow approach with handling and been making significant strides in the short time he has been with the shelter. Sadly, just when Wilton started playing with other soft dogs on 9/8, he caught an upper respiratory infection that resulted in nearly 4 weeks of kennel isolation. It was during that period of URI confinement when staff reported that Wilton hid in his cubby while showing teeth, snarled, growled and barked excessively at them. Wilton is now with listed for FAS in kennel. 💔 Wilton is now recovered from URI and happily back in playgroup. We would love to see this young pup in a supportive home environment where he can thrive, far away from the stress and chaos of shelter life. Can anyone help our friend? Adopt, foster or rescue to save his life.
