Oil prices suck and are def a part of the problem, but ever since spirit went bankrupt, there’s no low end competition holding prices down. Four airlines control 70% of the market which lets them charge whatever they want for pricing. Recently there was a proposed merger between United and Delta which would give it 35% control. You’re watching a modern day monopoly form and the government refuses to step in.
