اعلم أنَّ حاجةَ العبد إلى أن يعبد اللَّه وحده، ولا يشرك  به شيئًا في محبته، ولا في خوفه، ولا في رجائه، ولا في التوكل عليه، ولا في العمل له، ولا في الحلف به، ولا في النذر له، ولا في الخضوع له، ولا في التذلل والتعظيم والسجود والتقرب = أعظمُ من حاجة الجسد إلى روحه، والعين إلى نورها. بل ليس لهذه الحاجة نظير تقاس به، فإنَّ حقيقة العبد قلبه وروحه ، ولا صلاح لها إلا بإلهها الذي لا إلهَ إلا هو. فلا تطمئن في الدنيا إلا بذكره، وهي كادحة إليه كدحًا فملاقيته، ولابد لها من لقائه؛ ولا صلاح لها إلا بمحبتها وعبوديتها له، ورضاه وإكرامه لها. ولو حصلَ للعبد من اللذات والسرور بغير اللَّه ما حصلَ لم يدُمْ له ذلك، بل ينتقل من نوع إلى نوع، ومن شخص إلى شخص، ويتنعم بهذا في وقت، ثمَّ يتعذب به  -ولا بد- في وقت آخر. وكثيرًا ما يكون ذلك الذي يتنعم به ويلتذ به غيرَ منعِمٍ له ولا مُلِذّ، بل قد يؤذيه اتصالُه به ووجودُه عنده ، ويضرّه ذلك. وإنما يحصل له بملابسته من جنس ما يحصل للجَرِب من لذة الأظفار التي تحكُه، فهي تُدمي الجلد وتُحْرِقُه  وتزيد في ضرره، وهو يؤثر ذلك لما له في حكّها من اللَّذّة. وهكذا ما يتعذب به القلب من محبة غير اللَّه، هو عذابٌ عليه ومضرةٌ وألمٌ في الحقيقة، لا تزيد لذَّتُه على لذة حكّ الجرِب.  والعاقل يوازن بين الأمرين ويؤثر أرجحَهما وأنفعَهما، واللَّه الموفق المعين، وله الحجَّة البالغة، كما له النعمة السابغة. ابن القيم | طريق الهجرتين . #اللهم_صلي_على_نبينا_محمد #صدقه_جاريه #محبة_الله #اذكروا_الله #سبحان_الله_وبحمده_سبحان_الله_العظيم

There are many kinds of death. Probably one of the most noteworthy is the death of the old self. And I don’t mean this in a physical sense, but in what Mr Skelly has come to represent for me, is a constant dying of the old version of myself. How can I constantly pursue a better path of life, if I don’t let the old version of me - the old habits, fears and worries - die? They need to in order that I move ahead. It might feel or seem like an intense take, but perhaps this is just my lot in life, and one I feel, for whatever reason, compared to share with you all. Sometimes it is all or nothing. You can start again, there’s no rules to that. It’s your life, and in an instant it will be a breath, gone again into the wind. I look around so much and wonder how I can possibly make this world a better place when I’m spending so much of my time consuming the bad news that makes me feel we’re near our collective end. But then I realize I’ve spent so much of my time wallowing, concerned and obsessed, all the while the pen in my hand has been still, not moving. How much better would my life be if I spent more time in action, and less in concern over the next step? Time to start again. #hope #motivation #quotes #life #death
