Louis Wain is one of my biggest inspirations because despite his major battle with depression, he still continued to paint cats

Sorry I have to go off on a tangent rq because I LOVE his art so much. While I personally don't believe in trying to diagnose people post-mortem, I do firmly believe that Louis Wain was probably autistic and cats were more than likely one of his special interests, but I also understand that a lot of schizophrenic people find that view of him comforting and can't blame them for that, especially considering how closely diagnoses of autism and schizophrenia have been interlinked through the history of how we understand both conditions.

i hate how people misinterpret is artwork or try to make it seem like he had this severe psychotic breakdown that made him "crazy". his paintings of cats are so darling and well thought out, especially the more abstract ones

i am so passionate about how a psychologist(?) arranged undated works to make it seem like he was devolving from schizophrenia and now people tote it around like it's true
