just got done with a double and we have a woman who we just admitted a couple of days ago who everyone thinks is difficult, they hate her family cause they think they’re even more difficult than her, her and her husband got admitted on different units at the same time and he passed yesterday. she forgot after she finished crying, and since then she has been exhausted and cold all the time (i know she can feel it even if she can’t remember) but this poor woman just lost her love of 70 years. tonight i was getting her ready for bed and was about to tuck her in when she asked if she could give me a goodnight kiss, i love my people so i said ofc and she gave me a kiss on the cheek and a big hug and told me she loved me. (at dinner time i woke her up from her couch nap and she asked to eat in the living room because she’s hard of hearing and she loves the girls at her table but she feels left out cause they talk a lot and she doesn’t know what they’re saying so i was extra empathetic fits her today) i love my girl she looks liked blanche from golden girls and at 93 she is the strongest woman i know.

I was gossiping to one of my fav residents one day about a guy I was seeing. I wasn’t sure if he was into me or not. She was FLAT honest and said he wanted my money. I was like.. on a cna’s pay?! Giiiiiiirl 👀 (he was in fact a jerk.)
