I was going to say thats called a hose lay, andits used to get water from a hydrant to an engine thats to far away from a water source. However,thats really called a screwup, and someone is going to pay dearly for that.

as a firefighter this means 1 of 2 things, 1 there is a fire and 1 end of the hose is at the hydrant and the engine is going to the fire(called laying in). 2, somebody is in alot of trouble but not fired and will probably have to repack the hose by themselves.
