everything you said was eloquent and important! and i completely agree. the lack of the ability to acknowledge or accept nuance (LARGELY caused by social media) is deteriorating our intelligence and empathy. i have always sought to understand, to think about other perspectives and ideas, even if I truly don’t think I’ll ever agree or change my mind on things, or maybe even be able to ever choose a side, but then again, why must I? Why are we so addicted to extremes? The inability to see a full spectrum, to realize you may be wrong or there are just others options or possibilities, is so limiting.

I really struggle when people try to debate human rights though :( like I almost feel like it’s a place of privilege to be in the grey zone

I love this… I can stay neutral until it’s about basic human rights and then I cannot NOT say something because it feels like I’m not being my authentic self and standing up for what’s right. Ya kno? 🤪

I do agree with this! I am wondering what your thoughts are on people who are too neutral all the time?? Yes, it is good to recognize nuance in all things and we can learn from others, however I think we also live in world where we cling onto other people’s opinions rather than forming our own. I wonder if being too neutral can lead to no opinion at all. Thoughts??

Neutrality in some cases causes to side with the wrong side. We are in global crisis of neutrality where we all believe if something doesnt affect us then we shouldn’t have an opinion on it. This is the exact rhetoric that has lead to so many of the global issues
