🚚 The Current Situation on ETS2's New Multiplayer Clients: HaulMP and TrucklineMP Let's analyze one of the hottest news stories of the past few days in the Euro Truck Simulator 2 world: after a full 10 years where the multiplayer landscape was unchallenged and dominated by TruckersMP, things are finally changing. Two new clients have entered beta just a few days ago and are already generating a lot of buzz. Let's take a step back. 🛑 TruckersMP: We must all acknowledge the historical importance of TruckersMP: it kept the ETS2 community alive and united for over an entire decade. However, we cannot hide the reality of the facts: Zero innovation: In 10 years, the evolution of the multiplayer client and gameplay has remained practically unchanged. Obsolete UI: The interface and management systems now feel dated. Moderation and community: In recent years, the moderation situation has drastically worsened, with often arbitrary and "random" bans, accompanied by a total closure toward feedback and community requests. It was clear that a shake-up was needed. And the shake-up has finally arrived. 🌟 HaulMP: The Most Promising Contender Among the newcomers, HaulMP is shaping up to be one of the most solid and interesting projects. Lightning-fast development: The creator, kyyz, has shown incredible commitment, resolving a ton of issues and bugs present at launch in record time, making the client effectively stable and smooth (while keeping in mind that, being in beta, some imperfections are expected). Fair moderation: Unlike the past, the approach to moderation finally seems fair, transparent, and focused on player respect, saying goodbye to unjustified bans. Crazy upcoming features: Beyond what it already offers, amazing functions are in the pipeline. I really appreciated the synchronized rain across the entire server, full support for the Heavy Cargo Pack DLC, the tablet, and many other neat features driving the community crazy. ⚠️ TrucklineMP: Great Ambitions Held Back by Bugs On the other side, we find TrucklineMP, conceptually designed as a sort of "version 2.0" of TruckersMP, as its UI mirrors that style. Familiar yet modern design: The graphic interface echoes the structure we've been used to for years, but with a decidedly fresher and more modern twist, which I really appreciated. An uphill launch: Unfortunately, unlike HaulMP, TrucklineMP's beta launch did not go as hoped. The client is currently plagued by numerous bugs that, at least for now, make it largely unstable and unusable. It has great potential on paper, but it needs massive fixing before it can compete with TruckersMP and HaulMP. TrucklineMP also introduces DBUS, a feature which, in my opinion (even though it didn't work when I tried it), could turn out to be a truly great move ahead of SCS's upcoming release of the Coaches DLC. 🏁 Final Thoughts Competition is always a good thing, especially when TruckersMP remained stagnant for a decade. The ETS2 community deserves modern tools, stability, and, above all, respect from those who manage the platforms. Have you tried these new clients yet? Which of the two are you enjoying the most? #ets2multiplayer #trucksimulator #ets2 #eurotrucksimulator2 #truckersmp
