I think it's weird to go on multiple extravagant vacations and either not have your partner come or have them pay for themselves when you make more. if op was a man he would be seen as selfish/rude

I’m like 1/3 through the story. But extravagant vacations and not expecting your partner to come and not paying for them if you have significantly more money is not good relationship etiquette. However i do agree that his kids are on him and the expensive gifts were dumb

I mean she's not wrong, but PERSONALLY as a partner I would check in with my significant other about money things, yes he omitted but she knew what he did for a living so she just didn't care, idk. The other thing, the trips, PERSONALLY if I knew my partner couldn't afford it but I really wanted to go, I would check in to see how much he could afford and just cover the rest. they seems to be living completely separate lives.
