Matthew 19:9… you can separate but Not divorce, til death do you part. That is how you get away from abuse.. WE MUST TRUST GOD TO FIX IT!!!

This is no disrespect to religion, but life is for learning. Life is for lessons. We all came here for a purpose. This is my belief, but sometimes I feel like religion is too judgmental and and steals fear where there shouldn’t be any. I get a marriage supposed to be a sacred thing but I’m a type of person that looks at the bigger picture and back in the day when people were enslaved and they decided hey this is my spouse and then all of a sudden that person was took away from them, and then eventually they fell in love again, and that person was a spouse. People do what they have to do with the cards they are dealt. I pray someone that is in a dangerous situation and needs to get out. Does not see this message because it’s OK to walk away..

In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul states that if a spouse abandons a believer, the believer is "not bound" (1 Corinthians 7:15). Many prominent theologians—such as Dr. Russell Moore writing for Christianity Today—argue that an abuser has fundamentally abandoned the marriage vows. By treating a spouse with violence or severe emotional cruelty, the abuser forces the victim to flee for their own safety. The abuser is the one who broke the covenant; you are the innocent party who is free to move forward, When Jesus spoke about marriage, he frequently reminded his followers that God values mercy over sacrifice. God does not require an abuse survivor to live a life of forced singleness as a punishment for escaping a dangerous situation.

I was divorced and am remarried people misunderstood the people , Respectfully, you can’t tell every divorced person that they have to repent simply because they remarried while their former spouse is still alive. The Bible itself gives an exception. Jesus said in Matthew 19:9: “Whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.” The key words are “except for sexual immorality.” The Bible also says in 1 Corinthians 7:15 that if an unbelieving spouse leaves, the believing spouse is “not under bondage.” So yes, Scripture teaches that there are circumstances in which divorce and remarriage are permitted. We should read the Word in context instead of making a blanket judgment about everybody’s situation. Matthew 19:9. Read the whole verse. 🙏🏾
