used small displacement. you can usually sell for what you paid if it isn't wrecked. want a sport like go ninja 400. cruiser rebel 300. naked Yamaha mt03. adventure versys 250. hard to outgrow an sv650 and not a bad beginner. I learned on a ninja 250 and still miss her. understand the numbers, a 636 (120hp) is wayyy different than a 650 (70hp). you'll never regret starting. best of luck. see you on the road

Make sure your feet can touch the ground. Take the motorcycle safety course. Street riding is different than dirt. Get a mentor and go on mentor rides.

Honda rebel 300. It’s light, affordable, great resale value, easy to maneuver, sleek and sits low for a vertically challenged female 😉. I had one and went from a 300cc to a 1000cc car in 16 months. And I don’t even like Honda. But this Rebel is a great beginning for a new rider
