Don’t want to be true to the book, write a new story. It’s steinbecks story, you don’t get to change it, or it’s not East of Eden

Every villain has an origin story. Cathy’s origin story makes her choices make sense. I don’t see her choices as evil…I see them as self preservation because no one else had her back.

What I take away from the classics of this era is that men were so very confused by women. Just couldn’t get it.

They didn’t make her sympathetic. They just showed the depth of what and how she was made into what and who she was.

Netflix didn’t write the show. Zoe Kazan did.

ABSOLUTELY ruined cathy and more importantly took out important context to everyone’s single characters relationships.

I loved the book, and I loved this series just as much, if not more. We can’t keep comparing books to the film adaptations.
