I think people are very confused on haircolours... This is blonde, the way you can tell is because of the cool, beige-ash tones, high clarity under light, and lack of rich brown underlying warmth. So, no, it's not that they aren't accepting that they aren't blonde. It's the fact that people don't know how to differentiate shades.

It’s absolutely white supremacy issue, but I’d like to add it’s also influenced by misogyny. Blonde = dumb and hot in the male gaze for the majority of my life. Kids are often born with pale blonde hair then it goes brown….omg… it’s actually the kid thing isn’t it.

What I find crazy is I’ve seen Black ppl post their kids that were born with hair on the blonde spectrum, but their comments are always full of white women telling them that it’s not. I think they can only see these darker shades on blonde on other white ppl. Or does seeing it naturally on a Black person make them feel less special so they have to deny it… hmmm

as a white person from a white country, as a kid there were more blonde girls than girls who had dark brown/black hair like me. and for some reason, they tried to humble me constantly and the girls who had medium brown hair were always like "thank god i at least dont have black hair like some ugly witch" 💀 i never understood it, but the fact was, the lighter your features were, it was seen as more rare and prettier and better

It wasn’t until I was in my late 20s that I realized some people considered light brown to be blonde (as someone with naturally light brown hair that had blonde hair as a child). The entire concept is odd to me. The question really stems to (in my opinion), if I showed you this color with no descriptors, would you label it as a brown or a yellow? 😅
