Sometimes you reach a point where you feel like giving up. You smile for the cameras, encourage other people, keep showing up, and make everything look okay, but deep inside, you are fighting battles that very few people know about. Behind every picture, every video, every beautiful smile and every moment of laughter, there can be pain, pressure, disappointment, and situations that you don't know how to explain. Sometimes you go offline, not because you don't care, but because you are trying to gather yourself and find the strength to keep moving. There are moments I ask myself, “How much longer can I keep doing this?” But then I remember the difficult situations I've survived before. I remember where I started, the people depending on me, the lives I have touched, and the reason I chose to keep going even when it was hard. Life doesn't always give us a chance to rest from the battles. Sometimes you have to wipe your tears, take a deep breath, put on that smile, and keep walking, not because you are not hurting, but because you still have hope. So if you see me smiling, don't assume everything is perfect. Sometimes that smile is simply proof that I'm still choosing to fight. To anyone going through a difficult season right now: don't give up. Your current situation is not the end of your story. Take it one day at a time. Cry if you need to, rest if you must, pray when you feel lost but find a reason to rise again.
