I've worked in shops before so I'm on the mechanic side because I've seen this firsthand The mechanic wants to do the job right and make sure the car is in perfect shape for the customer the sales guy just wants to make a sale

I had a salesman tell me a car sold, and he asked if he could bring the custome back to look at it. I told him yes and left the 5k dollar quote worth of work it needed out so the customer can see. stop selling cars before we've inspected them

I had a rule as a service manager, salesmen are not allowed in the shop and they are not allowed to speak to any mechanic. The salesman talk to the service manager and the SM speaks to the tech.

When I was a used car tech. The salesman just sells the car without me reconditioning the car. Couple of times I finally get all the parts and I’m trying to look for the car and find out the salesman sold a car that needs brakes, tires and more. I’m on tech side.
