My child is four and he gets sent home with “homework” on helping with his fine motor skills and writing. We do it and make it a fun activity. We also do rhyming games at night and read multiple books a day. It’s my job as his mom to help keep learning fun and him knowing that I help him learn too. Teachers can’t do all the teaching alone.

I hated summer…. Mom and aunty had me reading books and then writing essays about each book and stand infront if the family every sunday to read aloud (started an inch away from the margin….4 sentences per paragraph then starting the next paragraph an inch away from the margin again)…. U could be laughing and swimming in the beach and my fam should out “whats 9 time 18” and if ur ass aint get it… straight time tables for a week straight.. yall aint fear being embarrassed enough anymore

alllll summer my dad was actually making me SCHOOL PACKETS!!! and he stayed at that table until ts was finished he did not gaf😂😂 my parents made it know there’s nun to being a cute black girl but A SMART BLACK GIRL?! no one could take my education away from me.

I used to teach 2s to 3s and parents used to dress their kids so cute. HOWEVER, the kids didn’t know their government name and weren’t potty trained. Yes, we potty trained them at school but if the parent isn’t keeping up with it at home, then it doesn’t work.

Exactly, I only know how to write in cursive cause my mom got me handwriting books and was very hands on with my schoolwork.

When I was a child I used to write out the whole times table. Read a book and have to give a summary about what I read and i could not copy the back of the book. I had to write about it in my own words in full sentences, my mom had us at that table writing our addresses down,

Literally by the time I got to kindergarten I could read and write well. My penmanship was so good that teachers would call my mama to see if she was the one completing my homework for me.
