I'd recommend go sometime else in the year, but many museums and it's gift shops may be closed. I'll honestly confess it pretty much felt more like a tourist trap and pretty scammy. I do recommend to check out the Peabody Essex Museum, it's wonderful and I enjoyed it and you may be able to get in for free or even discounted. But just be prepared to be paying heavily for parking and eating. Do not use the bathrooms in Witch City Mall.

everything in Salem is there year round, except without lines. like genuinely, the shops and restaurants don't even decorate or do anything for Halloween because they know the crowd is coming regardless

Respectfully no, there’s so many people and it’s suffocating especially for locals who have no choice! We love visitors but it’s just a lot on the nearby businesses and there’s no place to park
