mcmansions are one of my weird niche interests. my English comp professor did a lecture on different housing/architecture styles. I was the only one in the class that was able to identify the architectural styles. including the mcmansion. was it an aspiring architect? no. Just a girl with a very eclectic YouTube watch history.

My childhood home (pic below) build about 1920, in NYC. Although I no longer like to live in big houses, I prefer the private and separate rooms and high ceilings. I can’t stand McMansions. Idk how they are going to sell those McMansions in the future. 😳 I love my little ranch now. No stairs!… the most important thing for me.

Eh people complain about them but if you got 4+ kids that have friends over, these homes are actually so incredible. Some of the best memories in my life were made in houses that look like this.

I was decorative painter during this time, and they (McMansion owners) all wanted their homes tolook like old Italian Olive Garden restaurant vineyards 😂 I was kept in business by this group and grateful!
