my dumb self routinely asks my dad what it was like the day I was born. I was adopted. they weren't present for the birth.

I did this with my brother recently. He’s black and I’m white and he hasn’t seen me in quite a few years. He asked if I had a beard going and I said yeah but it’s not full yet and I said “We’ve never seen dad with a beard so I don’t know if we’ll get full beards or what with his genes” took me a moment to realize what I just said and I told him that his beard would for sure be different than mine😂

As an adoptive dad I never think about my son being adopted 99.999% of the time. But when I do it’s usually when someone says how good looking he is and I take credit for the genes.
