Sounds dumb, but you can just ask claude what is eating your usage. If it has to read excessive documentation or run a ton of tests before/after each task, that’ll hurt. Make sure you’re clearing context before starting a new task, and keep your cache warm. If it goes cold, /clear

Faced the same issues, here’s what to do: 1. Whenever you start working, start a project file. This way, if usage is starting to rack up pretty fast, you can start a new chat within that same project that has all of the relevant information that it needs to continue doing your work as you simultaneously are now saving more of your usage than before. You can do this right now with work that you’re already doing, so you don’t have to wait until you have to start a new project. 2. Use open AI or different model alongside Claude for your projects. You can have one work on certain parts of the project that it may do better on in comparison to a different model. All of these models have some strengths and weaknesses of their own. Try take advantage of this tip or else usage will be put onto things that it’s already not doing the best that you could potentially have if you simply allocate your project to other AI models.

been having better luck just running sonnet 5.5 and not having issues running into limits. for my use case it performs as good if not better then opus 5.5. (ecom email development/marketing)

I warned you make sure you run it out. Don’t wait till that time to let that stuff do it. They’ll just reset it for another week and then you’re like great. You want to run out completely do not save it. People make that rookie mistake all the time then when it comes time it goes. Oh, we can push him. He doesn’t know.
