@thrivewithrhys: Knowing what to do ✅ Caring about doing it ✅ Actually starting it ❌ Then the deadline arrives and apparently we’re Formula One. One of the most frustrating parts of ADHD at work is task initiation. Follow for practical neurodivergent workplace stuff from someone who has spent far too much time staring at an email he absolutely intends to write. #ADHD #ADHDAtWork #AdultADHD #neurodivergent

Just started as a consultant solicitor and I’m struggling. I can do the job but I’m just really struggling to get going. I sit at my computer and I go into paralysis mode. I’m having to work until midnight to compensate

It's also knowing with absolute certainty that something will go wrong but being unable to describe exactly how so all you can do is wait for shit to fail. This one isn't necessarily specific to adhd but what is specific is the frustration and mental turmoil related to this because your entire identity is based on explaining and over explaining things and you're failing to do so.

Here’s me at my desk scrolling TikTok rather than doing the small bit of work I have to do.

I have a few major pieces of work to do and my brain has shut down, I've not always been as bad as this but I'm crippled with it at the moment.

I’ve always struggled with getting there . I’m audhd as well. I am excellent once there. Flow state. I struggle when new as I wasn’t to know it all NOW but if I can pass that point I am good. However, if it’s a time bound job on Sunday I will not stop worrying about the Monday and that’s spreads to the Sat and Friday as I’ve got older. The shower , the steps , the getting ready. I’ve left so many jobs because of the getting there part. Work from home ? Great for a while and then I have too much flexibility. It’s a constant see saw. I can’t pin point If this is adhd / autism or I am just a knob
