Hi Lily I’ve just completed 3 weeks of pre op and I highly recommend the Optifast protein plus shakes especially the vanilla ones. I love the Optifast chicken soup aswell. The soup was filling at nighttime for dinner. 3 meals a day plus the 2 cups of veggies and 2 litres of water… Goodluck the first week is tough but it’s worth it. I have surgery today so the wait has been worth it.

3 years post op and during pre op I got over the flavours of the shakes so started mixing them! Banana with the coffee and the strawberry with the chocolate were absolutely delicious blended with a full cup of ice to turn it into a frappe 🤤 also the lemon dessert is to die for!

How exciting! I loved the chocolate optifast with ice cubes in it so it was really cold. I also liked the chocolate optifast bar. I couldn’t handle the soups at all, they had the worst after taste 😭 the lemon optifast dessert is nice too if you are allowed that. I was also allowed jelly lite, grape was my favourite flavour

Chocolate Optifast blended with ice were my go to, I hated every other flavour (I used to be very fussy tho) also the chocolate bars are soooo good. Look into getting broccoli and cauliflower rice as well, it was such a good alt for dinners!

I used the Aldi meal replacement shakes, I know some surgeons don’t allow them but mine didn’t care! They taste so much better 😊

Do you have a blender? I couldn't stomach the shakes unless I put them jn the blender with ice, they are like frappes 😍 I bought a few boxes of different flavours so i didn't get bored. Vanilla is good because you can pop frozen strawberries and blueberries in with it or a shot of coffee 🫶

Hi lovely! I made my chocolate optifast shake into frappes. Was so much easier to stomach! The optifast soups are yuck! Definitely don’t recommend those. I had a shake for breakfast, bar for lunch and another shake for dinner. Sugar free cordial, sugar free Powerade saved me! I was also allowed one diet soft drink a day too. It’s mentally super hard, so please be kind to yourself over the next few weeks and remember your “why” 🥹🩷

I’m currently in my pre op phase, surgery is October 15th, I’m primarily using OptiFast, the coffee flavour and the Lemon dessert mousse are the best in my opinion. I hated the OptiSlim shakes… The pre op phase sucks in a sense but in another regard, I haven’t felt like I have so much energy in so long, my body isn’t crashing after lunch time from a huge sugar/carb drop and it’s so noticeable… All the best Gf xx
