No lautipolo, No problem..🌺 Someone wake up the ancestors 😍🙈🤣 This Samoan caregiver has upgraded supoesi recipe by simply adding my own little twist while keeping those precious traditions alive. The fragrant citrus oils in the lemon zest give that rich, creamy coconut and sweet papaya a beautiful burst of freshness! 🇼🇸🥥 CHEF TUSI’S SAMOAN SUPO ESI (PAPAYA SOUP) WITH KOKO SAMOA 🥥🇼🇸 lemon zest plus juice🍋 A little taste of Samoa, straight from my kitchen to yours! ❤️ This morning I made one of our traditional island favorites, Supo Esi, with my own little twist of Koko Samoa! And guess what? My husband finished his ENTIRE bowl! WOOHOO! 🥹❤️ Ingredients: * ½ medium, very ripe papaya * 1 can coconut cream * 1 lemon (any size) * 1 cup sugar (adjust to taste) * 1–2 cups instant tapioca pearls * Water (about half a medium pot, or less) * Koko Samoa (optional, amount to your liking) (If you use instant tapioca you can pour it straight into pot) follow recipe. But if its regular tapioca/not instant, make sure to soak tapioca for an hour or 2) Instructions: 1. Prepare the papaya. Wash, peel, and remove the seeds from your ripe papaya. Cut into chunks and blend until smooth or slightly chunky, depending on your preference. 2. Cook the papaya. Fill a medium pot about halfway with water, or slightly less. Add the blended papaya and simmer for approximately 30 minutes. 3.Add the tapioca. Once the mixture comes to a boil, add your instant tapioca pearls and sugar. Stir frequently to prevent the tapioca from sticking to the bottom of the pot. 4. Add the Koko Samoa (optional). If using Koko Samoa, soften or dissolve the grated koko in a little hot water before pouring it into the soup. Stir well to combine. If you’re making traditional Supo Esi without koko, simply skip this step. 5. Add the lemon zest. Grate the lemon zest and stir it into the soup. Keep the freshly squeezed lemon juice aside for later. Continue cooking until the tapioca pearls become translucent and tender. Cooking time will depend on the size and type of tapioca. 6. Finish with coconut cream. Once the tapioca is fully cooked, add the coconut cream and stir gently. Bring the soup back to a gentle boil, then turn off the heat. 7. The finishing touch! 🍋 Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice after turning off the heat. 8. Serve and enjoy! Serve hot or warm with your favorite toast or bread. Absolutely delicious! Chef Tusi’s Kitchen Tips: * Use very ripe papaya for its natural sweetness and beautiful flavor. * Adjust the sugar to your liking. * If the soup becomes too thick, gradually add a little hot water until you reach your preferred consistency. * Tapioca thickens as it cools, so leftovers may need a little water when reheating. * Start with less tapioca if you prefer a thinner soup. A little love from my kitchen: ❤️ Our ancestors didn’t need fancy kitchens, expensive ingredients, or measuring cups to create delicious meals. They cooked with what the land provided, and those beautiful island flavors have been passed down through generations.#samoan #samoa #viral #samoantiktok #samoatiktok685🔥🇼🇸🤞🏻
