wikipedia also has a strange tendency to beg for money even though they get a shitton of money from companies, such as Google due to them driivng high web traffic, there is a video on it, i reccomend it.

Wikipedia has been doing that forever, they have entire campaigns just for that, one of the founders quit because they kept doing this. Obviously with AI it's most likely closer to the truth but they still make a LOT of money, they're funded by wikimedia commons.
