I had my doubts when I bought the 2.0 CX-5 without a turbo after owning a a turbocharged car for 12 years but have learned how to drive the car economically and have accepted that it was never meant to be a speedster. It is comfortable, reliable and has decent space. Maybe I have passed the stage of hard acceleration which increase fuel consumption.

No one buys a Mazda CX5, KIA Sport age, Toyota Rav4, Honda CRV or Hyandai Tucson for speed. If you want to go zoom zoom in a SUV then buy the Mazda CX-60 🤣

A turbo would be a failure point on a Mazda... And you already have a big enough engine for power. A turbo would mess with the reliability. If you want more zoom, do some mods yourself... A young exhaust upgrade or something could give you all the power you need...
