@skynews: BREAKING: A push sent to ASOS customers from its own app claimed it had been "HACKED", with the company's shares falling 11% afterwards. The alleged hackers addressed their threatening message to "ASOS DPO and IT". The DPO is the data protection officer, who is responsible for safeguarding customer information. They claimed to have compromised ASOS's "Snowflake instance". Snowflake is a cloud platform used to store, process and analyse data. It also enables firms to send push notifications. Snowflake hosts Simon AI, which collects a customer's behavioural, transactional and demographic data in one profile. This data, including clothing sizes and even measurements, might have been accessed in the alleged hack. ASOS has not yet issued a statement on the apparent hack, so it is unclear which customer data might be affected, if any at all. #SkyNews #ASOS #BreakingNews
