However wind shear continues to be an issue and it will likely persist for some time for at least the next 12h. Conditions are still marginally conducive for development and a tropical storm should form within the next 24-36h if not sooner should strengthening trends greatly improve. Beyond this is further strengthening is highly uncertain but hurricane strength could be possible though this could likely be short lived. Thursday appears to be the best day for any notable strengthening before potential landfall and rapid weakening on Friday.
