It never made sense to me. I love the movie, but why would I let you bet money that you owe me? I’ll take the 10 grand and good luck getting the rest of it by midnight. I mean you can only lose lol

When I was barely 18 I moved to San Antonio Tx, started working for a moving company. We had a job to do kinda out in the country and it was a pretty good sized house like the big one from Texas chainsaw massacre. All kinds of stuff in every room, but there was all these older tv’s and a VCR with THIS movie on VHS sitting either on top or next to the VCR. I’d talked to him as we were moving all his stuff out. It was his parents place and he had a daughter maybe 13 or 14 and they both lived there together. What I heard from him was that he was selling most of the stuff in the house to a second hand store in San Antonio and the rest was going to be donated. He had managed to sell all the vehicles and the house and property except for the car and a few suitcases him and his daughter could fill with stuff they wanted to keep. His plan was to head to Vegas for the world poker tournament. He had so many books on playing poker, so many VHS tapes that he recorded poker matches from the TV. I managed to snag a Cadillac poker book. Took the crew 3 days to pack or move the stuff he donated or sold. Then he left. He gave all 5 of us in the crew a deck of cards and a 100 dollar tip. Then he left. I still wonder what happened to him and his daughter. One of the last things he showed me cause I always interested in the game and I had been playing at home with my brother so we would talk about it. But what he packed for himself was a framed royal flush of diamonds. He caught it in a game and kept it and not after that decided that’s what he was gonna do. Go to Vegas.
