@plugtvke: Juba County Caretaker Commissioner Kalisto Lado has directed foreign nationals to leave small-scale retail businesses in South Sudan. The directive also covers street vending, boda boda operations and chapati making, with Lado saying these activities should be reserved for South Sudanese. Foreign investors have instead been urged to focus on wholesale trade, imports, manufacturing and larger businesses.

I don’t see anything wrong with this. I lived in Wau for a while and most people buy from foreigners because they own bigger retail shops and businesses compared to the locals. Maybe not lock out foreigners completely from retail but find a way to empower their people in business and slowly transition into this.
