The Prophet Muhammad said that Allah said "I have divided the prayer between Me and My servant into two halves, and My servant will have what he asks." When the servant says: "Alhamdulillahi Rabbil 'Alameen" (All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds) ALLAH says: "My servant has praised Me." When he says: "Ar-Rahman ir-Raheem" (The Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate) ALLAH savs: "Mv servant has extolled Me." When he says: "Maliki Yawmid-Deen" (Master of the Day of Judgment ALLAH says: "My servant has glorified Me." (In another narration: "Mv servant has entrusted his affairs to Me.") When he says: "lvvaka na'budu wa ivyaka nasta'een" (You alone we worship and You alone we ask for help) ALLAH savs: "This is between Me and Mv servant. and Mv servant shall have what he asked." When he savs: "Ihdinas-siratal mustageem, siratal-ladheena an'amta 'alavhim ahavril-maahdoobi 'alavhim wa lad-daaalleen" (Guide us to the straight path... ALLAH says: "This is for My servant, and My servant shall have what he asked." This is why Al Fatiha is repeated in every rakah.
