I do it solo all the time. It does tighten your cheeks, but what's worse is all the other players that agro the worm and make it way harder than it needs to be.

The problem is the smaller ornithopter. Hand compacting summons the worm while the crawler does not. Keep the carriers at like 150-200 altitude and almost never see the worm

Also... NEVER just pick up and hover. pick up the crawler and fly away perpendicular from the direction the worm is charging... If the worm charges North to South then you pickup the crawler while flying away to the east or to the west....
