So why do so many men with this same mentality still scream and preach about being protectors of women? Why are there so many stories about a woman being harassed/assaulted by 1 man in a crowd of men who do nothing and it’s a woman who steps in to save her? If you want to be a coward and only help women who you feel you have some kind of claim to, that’s fine. But you don’t get to, in the same breath, claim to be a protector of anything.

i have stepped in and still will step in for a woman, random or not. the only problem Is they don't take it as you're giving them a window to get out of the situation. they see it more so as leverage against the man to keep going.
