It's so sad. If the DEA pursues asset forfeiture in connection with the case, the consequences could extend far beyond the person being arrested. The family could potentially lose access to the home and other property while the legal proceedings unfold. Furniture, computers, televisions, clothing, vehicles, potentially almost everything of value could become part of the forfeiture process. The financial and emotional consequences for the family could be devastating. And there the father is... dying of cancer. Jesus.
