She should have looked at the bill, if paying with a card add a tip of negative $50.00 and totaled it. Was the fee posted or patron notified…. The restaurant should have asked to control the kids, leave with food to go, or leave or not to return. Fee was outrageous. Will say what people think is normal isn’t acceptable in public

this isn't even worth entertaining. the business could call the cops if they really felt this way. otherwise if I was that family we would just remove the charge and tell them to either charge what we approve or you go to your bank and they'll take care of it for you. this restaurants and companies who think they can just charge willy-nilly fees at their whim need to get their asses checked

it is a unlawful charge, they cannot make and enforce anything like that unless it is posted at the door, register and on the menu and other places. should have looked at the bill before you pay it
