@ct16011: The Korean War 1951-53: 5-6 years after WW2 ended major super powers went at it again. After the suprise attack at the 38th parrell the South Koreans where pushed back to the Pusan Perimeter ,they held out despite being assaulted over an over again. General Douglas MacArthur instead of breaking out at the Pusan Perimeter, he decided to land in Korea an break out behind North Korean lines. It was a huge success an saved a bunch of South Koreans and the rest of the U.N members from being wiped out. After this MacArthur would decide to push into North Korea to the Chinese border which led to the Chinese getting involved an made the conflict 10x more intense. When peace was finally decided 1.5 too 3 million civilians and around 1 million military personnel.
