My first job was Baskin Robbins. When I was 17 an adult man was yelling at me because we didn’t have Daiquiri Ice. I said “sir. I’m 17 years old. I’m wearing a pink polo shirt and a baseball hat. Do you think I’m the one making decisions on what flavors to carry?” He was appropriately chagrined.

I will never forget the flower shop owner who kicked out one of his weekly regulars and told her to never return because she yelled at a 16 year old me for messing something up. after she left I asked him "you can do that?! isn't the customer always right?" he said it's his company and he will do as he pleases.

A local small ice cream shop had a similar sign in the window to please be kind to the employees. They are teenagers. I had to wonder, who are these awful people getting upset over their dang sundaes

Not only do they stick up for their student employees, they give back a lot to the community. During Covid, they offered hot free lunch to every and any kid that walked in. These brothers run fundraisers for the local schools and other charities. Goodstuff Smokehouse and Coldstuff ice cream. Both in the same parking lot! Definitely support their business.. because also, who keeps an ice cream shop open this late in the season? 🙌🏻 The bbq is also one of the best meals you’ll get your hands on!

Ice cream was my first job too and ppl are DICKS about ice cream. I had someone ask to see the owner bc I told them “it’s not that serious. It’s just ice cream” The owner was my mom and she walked up and said “it’s not that serious. It’s just ice cream. We can easily fix it” 🤣✌🏻
