Also let’s not talk about Giggs involvement. I know he does more for the community but if you are from around that area you know…

The way you've articulated this is beautiful. It speaks to a deeper issue in the Black community: successive British governments still haven't done the work to stop young Black boys becoming another statistic of senseless crime. What happened to Damilola Taylor and Stephen Lawrence was devastating and preventable. It's not about absolving anyone of their crimes, but acknowledging the cycle of gangs grooming children and weaponising them to commit heinous acts.

This series is so important because it gives language to what we were experiencing, especially as an older Gen Z who was old enough to remember but didn’t understand.

I mean there's a history of, when there are no third spaces or youth spaces, gangs build up. The Peaky Blinders withered down before WW1 because there was an effort in the community to build football clubs and youth spaces. It's something that we have had solutions for, the cycle will keep repeating so long as those in power dismiss their responsibilities

I’m hoping to explore the topic of the colourism/bullying discussed in the doc. 😞 honestly … I don’t even know where to start. It was horrific during that time. We honestly went through so much. I will watch this but I’ll need to brace myself because I know I’m going to cry!

As I was saying in my previous comment a petition to make gang exploitation, CSE and similar topics a mandatory subject from year 7 or even year 6 onwards. The government make it seem like they are working hard… Maths & English is mandatory but how will the kids utilise it if they are no longer here. D€^th rates are increasing, it might be a small number but it affects everyone around them. Just imagine teaching this to the kids young, kids talk a lot. When the kids identify a sign it will urge them to speak about their experience either in class or someone trusted.
