They be in denial because it’s a reflection of them. They don’t wanna take accountability

One thing I’ve learned is that parents be in denial and ignore everything. Disabilities don’t go away because you ignore them.

I used to babysit my bd first daughter when I was pregnant and one time she very clearly had a cold. I told him he played it off and just said it’s from her asthma. Turns out it was CMV n she passed it to me and my baby who was then born with it and is not at risk of hearing loss. He still denies it to this day…

As a teacher it’s so frustrating because you want so much better for the child. They have just been given to terrible parents

I worked at a daycare in high-school and we had a 8 month old that couldnt hold up her head. When we tried to assist her, it would bend oddly. We kept telling her parents and they insisted she would grow out of it. They took her out of our daycare about 3 months later. Now that im older, I understand she had beginning signs of cerebral palsy. I pray that this baby is ok.... its been 26 years.

I dealt with babies that were not special needs, but had lazy parents, causing developmental delays. I remember this mom swore her baby couldn't crawl, walk or drink from a cup or use a spoon, until we showed her video and it only took a couple of months of consistency

Used to have so many 3 year olds that could not talk, were extremely aggressive and would not respond to their names. The parents “they talk at home”….

That breaks my heart. I check with my baby’s daycare everyday to make sure he’s good while he’s there and ask them if they notice anything concerning to let me know so I can check it out. I refuse to ignore concerns if they arise.

Yes! My husband has a special needs 9 yo. Mom will not “allow” him to get help. We were able to get full custody of him and got him as much help as possible. He was 100% nonverbal, completely dependent on a diaper, will not eat solids. As soon as we got custody we got him a communication device. We still have the recording of mom cussing us out for “taking the lazy way out”.

Like imagine you can’t tell nothing to them about their child. You can’t say nothing to their child but yeah, they want to drop off their child from sun up to sundown every day even when they’re off and spend no time with the kid.
