@frankiegiarrizzo: Is celebrating Halloween actually a sin? "I keep seeing Christians say, 'You can't celebrate Halloween. It's demonic.'" I understand where it comes from, Halloween has historical ties to pagan traditions like Samhain, and occultism, witchcraft, and glorifying demons are lines Christians shouldn't cross. But we need a little common sense. A five-year-old dressing up as Spider-Man, collecting candy, and hanging out with family isn't practicing witchcraft. The Bible doesn't command us not to celebrate October 31st. Romans 14 talks about personal conviction: "Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind." If Halloween violates your conscience, don't celebrate it. But don't take a personal conviction and turn it into a command from God. Christian freedom isn't about seeing how close to evil you can get without sinning, but it also doesn't mean inventing rules Scripture never wrote.
