Hasan was convicted of killing 12 active-duty soldiers and a retired serviceman in the shooting, which also left 32 people wounded. The Pentagon said the decision followed a recommendation from Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, with the Army now responsible for setting the time and place of the execution.
