@lingorm.stories: Orm was already awake early. She looked at Ling, who was still sleeping peacefully, and smiled. Quietly, she got up, wrote a little note, and placed it next to Ling. “Get dressed. No questions. Trust me. 🤍” When Ling woke up later and read the note, she laughed. “What are you planning now?” she mumbled. A little while later, Orm came back and grinned. “Come on.” “That’s all the explanation I get?” “No.” Orm took her hand and led her to a small art studio. Inside were two blank canvases and lots of paint. “We’re painting together today,” Orm said. Ling looked at her in surprise. “This is your big surprise?” “Wait and see.” They sat next to each other and started painting. After a few minutes, Orm had paint on her hands and a little spot on her cheek. Ling laughed. “You’ve got something there.” “Where?” Ling pointed at her own cheek. “There.” Orm tried to wipe the paint off, but only made it worse. “Ling!” Ling laughed and gently dabbed a little paint onto her nose. “Now it matches.” Orm looked at her for a moment before putting a little paint on Ling’s cheek too. “Now it’s your turn.” By the end, they were both covered in little spots of paint. Orm had painted two people by the sea. Ling had painted something too, but she didn’t want to say what it was. “You’re going to show me, right?” Orm asked. “Of course.” That evening, they came home. Ling placed her canvas on the table and turned it around. Orm sat down beside her. “Okay. Now I want to see it.” Ling slowly turned the canvas around. It showed the two of them standing together by the sea. It wasn’t painted perfectly, but that was exactly why Orm loved it. “Ling…” she said softly, smiling. “Do you like it?” Orm nodded and rested her head on Ling’s shoulder. “Very much.” Ling put an arm around her and gave her a small kiss on the forehead. “Then it stays with us.” Orm looked at her and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. “I hope so.” After that, they placed both paintings next to each other in the living room. And even though they had to laugh at their artwork, they both agreed: these were exactly the kind of little days they wanted to have more often.
