A South African woman was stopped at a UK airport after returning to Britain following a previous two-year working holiday stay. She told immigration officers that she had followed the rules — working for one year and spending the other year on holiday. But officers weren’t convinced. They contacted her previous employer, who reportedly gave them a very different account and said she had actually worked for more than a year. Then another part of her story came under scrutiny. She told officers that a man coming to pick her up was just a friend. Immigration contacted him. His answer? He reportedly identified himself as her boyfriend. With the information from her employer and the conflicting story about her relationship, she was ultimately denied entry to the UK.
