@rynnstar: Replying to @Percy and I know someone’s going to be like “Kerry can’t go to jail because that’ll make Noah go crazy and kill everyone!” But like, that kid is an extremely volatile ticking time bomb regardless, and I think a scene where she shows him that taking responsibility for her actions is the right thing to do could be part of his learning how to be a decent human. he’s about to go off to college anyway, there could be a really nice scene of them connecting while she’s in prison or something. IDK I just think there’s more satisfying ways to do it and I’m kind of over the “hysterical woman go crazy” trope. #La#Lanterns

The issue is that, if Karrie turns herself in how would she raise Noah to be a good person instead of following his manhunter programming? The choice was either she gets away with the murder and lives with the guilt while raising Noah or she goes to prison and Noah destroys earth

ive been thinking about it and a fear motif sound throughout wouldve helped. like a little sound that plays when John or his parents shoot the apple or when Hal and his dad are talking then when Kerry and Hal argue we hear the motif full blast an undertone of fear

The only good theory I’ve heard for letting her skate free is that I keeps Noah from going super villain. But I don’t like how they killed Hal

I agree. Hal had to serve time for 10 years bc of what the manhunter did. Her serving time could’ve been a good parallel

the only credit I can give it is the scene does play into the whole fear theme going on. the only way I can see it being redeemed is if its revealed she's been exposed to the same fear gas Zoe used to wipe out that planet. maybe Noah accidentally exposed her when he came back through the portal or maybe he did it on purpose so she'd kill Hal, idk

The more I think about it, the more I’m disappointed at how poorly written Hal’s death was.

I saw something that said the reason she shot him is because she got used to doing it because he could always block it with his ring but he couldn't that time

Idk I honestly felt it made it more real. So often gun violence isn't this premeditated thing and just comes down to a rash emotional decision in a moment. I think it was also built on the trauma of what happened in Rushville before.

Why the hell would Kerry bring hal back to Rushville, if there was even a slither of chance of him discovering ANOTHER Manhunter???

The reason I feel like they absolved her (and John’s parents), was just to tie up every single loose end so that If Jon shows up in Man of tomorrow it can justify him not mentioning anything to simplify it,

My point of view is that she’s not sympathetic to the audience directly. It’s more that the audience is meant to be sympathetic to John’s sympathy for her.
