As the family grew to 25 my Mom would give every child and grandchild $100 on Thanksgiving in a card with love. Each person had to go buy their own gift and open it in front of her, she loved each moment with each person explaining their special gift. As a grandma now I am thinking i should do that 🩵

Honestly? Get a BIG storage tote with a lid then slide into Sam's Club or Costco. Paper towels, toilet paper, kleenex, clorox wipes, trash bags, laundry supplies, some beef, chicken, fish, pork, an easy meal of 2 for the freezer, some of their favorite snacks, and then a gift card for them to pick out a movie they would like. My Mother in law did this every year and it was the BEST blessing in our 2 person household and many things lasted nearly the full year.

Each kid and grandchild get 3 gifts. One thing the want ($75 limit), one thing to read and one thing they need. Reminds our family of the three gifts brought by the wise men for baby Jesus.

We only have social security for income since we’re in our 70’s. So last year my husband & I made home made assorted cookies placed in Christmas tins. For the longest time, probably about 10yrs or so, we make homemade Christmas ornaments. There were 24 children, spouses, grandchildren & 3 great grand children. We make something different every year. Before making homemade ornaments we bought ornaments from stores. We always play games when we get together & we all enjoy that. Wonderful to feel young again.

I buy them an experience. They are in the military and wherever they may be stationed I pay for a years pass into the local zoo. Currently they're in San Diego and the zoo there is fantastic! Previously they were in Dallas/Ft Worth and that one was good too! I also give them a gift card to Costco. So they can go buy a years worth of TP and paper towels and stock their pantry so they don't have to worry about it for awhile. Or they can get something they've been wanting.

Our kids ask only one thing. We provide our home. My wife helps in the kitchen with treats and I help assemble the toys for our grandkids. Christmas evening we treat them to Chinese food and a movie.

my parents used to help us with vacations. we would get 1 vacation a year and they would help pay for it. they had also taken their own vacations throughout so usually they would have some sort of benefits or points they could use and we would all go on a family trip around Christmas time, get someplace warm and just enjoy our time together

Each of my 4 children live in different parts of the country-so each yer I gift them a weekend of time with us and their siblings. They choose the place and weekend and the rest is on me! Best gift all around-they love seeing each other and getting away for a weekend-and I get the best gift of all-seeing them together for a weekend during the holiday season

make them a cookbook of all your recipes you made when they were growing up. There’s websites and you can make it hard or soft cover, add pictures, choose colors and fonts and make it your own style. It saves it too in case other people you know want to order.

My momma passed away last year unexpectedly… I missed her so our first Christmas without her [Broken heart] and again this Christmas it will be so sad, as I’ve cut off my father for his toxic abusive behaviors. He married within mere months of her passing and just so disrespectful. Mourning both parents this year. She always used to make Christmas so fun and joyful keeping the spirit of Christ in Christmas… what I wouldn’t give for one more Christmas with her love ❤️
