@mercycornerpodcast: 🚨⚠️ SHENANDOAH PARK: WEEKS LATER, WHY ARE THERE STILL SO MANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONS? A child was found unresponsive at Shenandoah Park, and weeks later, there are still important questions that deserve answers. Yes, we understand there are questions about why the boy was at the park during school hours. But that does NOT eliminate the responsibility to determine exactly what happened at a City of Miami playground. 🔴 Who installed the slide — a private vendor or City employees? 🔴 When was it last inspected? 🔴 Who approved the installation and certified it as safe? 🔴 Were there previous complaints or incidents involving this equipment? 🔴 How many other City of Miami parks have the same or similar slide? 🔴 Have those playgrounds been inspected since this tragedy? 🔴 What assistance has the City offered this child’s family? 🔴 If the City has helped with funeral expenses in other circumstances, what is the policy and was assistance offered in this case? And what about City leadership? Barbara “Barbie” Hernandez, the Assistant City Manager whose responsibilities include Parks and Recreation — what has been done since this incident to ensure other City playgrounds are safe? And George Wysong was the City Attorney at the time of the incident. Wysong also has a long history with the Miami Police Department, having previously served as its Police Legal Advisor. What legal guidance has the City Attorney’s Office provided regarding this incident, the investigation, public records and the City’s response to the family? Reporters have sent questions, yet the response continues to be that the matter is under investigation. An investigation takes time. Public safety shouldn’t have to wait. This isn’t about jumping to conclusions about what caused this tragedy. It’s about TRANSPARENCY, ACCOUNTABILITY and making sure another family never has to experience something like this. Miami parents deserve answers. 🕊️ #MercysCorner #ShenandoahPark #CityOfMiami #MiamiNews #Miami

The more important questions are: where was his mother? Why was he skipping? Why didn’t she take him to school? People like to blame the city but parks are meant for kids to go under supervision of an adult to avoid situations like these.
