@itsjillfortune: 2 years ago I lost my dad to an unexpected heart attack. This was the hardest thing I have ever had to face in my life. I never knew grief until I was faced head first with it. I got the news over the phone 2 months after having my first baby. Living in Amsterdam and hearing about this over the phone was unreal for me. I was in disbelief and I couldn’t accept it. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. No. Not me. This kind of thing was not meant to happen to me. I was at least meant to be afforded the opportunity to say goodbye to him. I wasn’t. And it did happen. It was real and I had to deal with it. The death of my father changed something in me. It changed my perspective on life. It changed how I lived my own life. I became obsessed with making it my priority to live a fulfilled life. Not only for me, but now for my daughters. My health and wellbeing are now at the top of my list of priorities. I no longer live my life to please others. Everything I do now is to make him proud and be a true example to my girls that no dream is too big 🤍
