@financial_craic: Actual details on the personal investment accounts. €12,000 annual limit €50,000 tax free limit 1% tax on amounts over €50,000 Lots of positives to take away from these. They are definitely designed for "Middle Ireland". Are they as good as @Simon Harris TD could have made them, no.
Would a thousand a month not hit the €50k mark after 4 years 2 months?

Is it worth starting this investment account at €250 per month Because normal people can't afford €1000 per month.

You know what, with how dumb our TDs are, and our current non pension alternatives it’s not half bad.

typical Irish solution bits of others schemes mushed together, a straight copy of UK ISA was all that was needed,
would you agree max out your pension allowance first and then invest in this

Not sure how you figured it’s not for the 170b sat in current accounts. I’ll be encouraging all the family (parents, kids etc) to invest in one. The €50k limit is far higher than the UK ISA and whilst the 14k is a bit lower than I’d have hoped for it’s still a relatively large amount for those it’s targeting. Overall it’s far better than I expected.

Is it not if the account has 52k you have to pay tax on the full 52k, so not just the 2k??

Do you still pay exit tax for the new fund if your account is above 50k?

Why are you saying exit tax is going to be 35% when apparently it’s only going to be 1% above €50k?

USC tax is formed for financial crisis ? even the crisis is over or not ? USC is still in effect ? can the government use the USC tax as an investment for workers ? or another contribution as investment ? bonds crisis getting high interest rate ? Euro,Pound or Dollar might suddenly devalue or diffriate ? Irish bonds or ireland gold coin or phydical gold ? a buffer for crisis? war, trade war, fuel war ? currency war ? if the government planning addition payment for teenager they can put it as savings or investment for there funds for housing in the future ? since there plan is to cycle money they give to workers and return to government so they can have funds or money for there project and protection for the next crisis ? in the past the USC is for financial crisis ? USC now is for investment savings ? lending money for warring countries ?

Who remembers investing in bank shares, loosing them all and your money. Do you trust banks to invest your money, what happens if a cyber attack. We already paid tax to save our money. They want our savings for what? For who? Do you trust a man with no qualifications who answers to the EU. Question to think about
